As we start a new calendar year, many take this time to make resolutions. The new year is a time for new beginnings, the preverbal turning over a new leaf. Many of these resolutions may have already been abandoned making new year’s resolutions the punchline to many jokes. The joke, that we take longer to make our resolutions than to break them. That we aspire too much and set ourselves up for failure. Those habits we may never break, those things we say we will try but never do. The meaning we have attached to New Year’s is one of hope, and the breaking of those resolutions is the waning of that hope and return to what is known and therefore comfortable. Falling back into long-ingrained habits. But what if we can sustain that hope? If instead, we can continue to resolve. When that one thing does not take you where you thought it would continue to follow it instead of abandoning it. I am a believer that any day is a new day to resolve to do, make, learn, change. Failure is what happens when we set out on a quest with a predetermined result. Success is when you set out into a quest fully open to whatever it offers. In the spirit of the time of year please set goals, not results. Set aspirations to start a journey that may lead you to new uncharted territory. I myself will resolve to bring you more content to enjoy. Including this new musings section which will consist of short posts of sidebars.
Thank You to those who have read my posts. Please share my page with anyone you think might also enjoy it. Coming soon will be the continuation of the Steppe series.
